Objective

By the end of the session, teachers will be able to effectively sequence and teach key financial literacy topics such as income, taxes, saving, investing, credit management, risk, and insurance, while anticipating and addressing common student misconceptions and pitfalls.

Teachers will come away with a collection of resources, lesson plans, and assessments that can be readily implemented in their classrooms, enhancing their pedagogical practices and providing students with engaging learning experiences in the field of financial literacy. They will also have opportunities to collaborate with other educators, sharing best practices and exploring simulations and online tools that can be integrated into their fall curriculum.

Standards

Description

From 10:45 a.m to 12:00 p.m, Alex will facilitate a session meant to deepen understanding and pedagogy practice of the aforementioned topics. The afternoon session will focus on a deep dive into resources, lesson plans, and assessments that teachers can use in their classroom. The session will feature breakout rooms and provide time for teachers to demo simulations and online resources they can use in class in the Fall.
