Time: 15 mins,
Updated: November 17 2021,

Objective

Students will be able to:

  • Identify productive resources.

In this economics activity, students will categorize the productive resources on a tropical island.

Procedure

This individual activity requires students to explore and categorize the different types of resources available on a tropical island: Natural Resources: Ocean, Water, Trees, Land, Fish; Human Resources: Fishing for food, Picking coconuts, Building shelter, Cooking food; Capital Resources: Fishing poles, Boats, Knives, Pots and Pan. After reviewing the resources, students will complete either the Quizizz Activity or ReadyAssessments Activity. Living on an island can be fun, but it can also be a long way from any other land masses. As a result, it can be a long distance from getting the resources for many of the goods and services you use every day. To complete this activity, students should follow the directions below:

  1. Review the resources found on a tropical island
  2. Put resources into correct category of natural, capital or human. Use either the Quizizz Activity or ReadyAssessments Activity.
