Stephen Day joined the VCU Center for Economic Education as Director in July of 2014.
Before coming to VCU, Stephen taught high school economics, government, and history in Raleigh, North Carolina. He was the recipient of the 2009 North Carolina Economic Educator of the Year award. From 2010 until 2014, Stephen worked as Programs Director for the North Carolina Council on Economic Education while pursuing his PhD at North Carolina State University. In this capacity, Stephen conducted teacher-training workshops in economics and personal finance, taught education courses, investigated the learning impact of the Stock Market Game, edited the Meridian Journal of K-12 Classroom Computer Technologies, and co-edited the 2014 National Council for the Social Studies bulletin, "Teaching the C3 Framework".
